CURRICULUM

IB Diploma Programme

The IB Diploma is widely regarded as the gold standard of school graduating programmes.

Is not only recognized but activel valued by hundreds of universities around the world including all of the Ivy League schools in the US as well as both Oxbridge universities and all of the Russell Group university in the UK.

The constructivist learning philosophy of the IBO is founded upon the principle that teachers and students build learning together through inquiry and discussion resulting in high levels of student motivation and learning that is deep and transferable. Research indicates strongly that university admissions officers prefer the IB Diploma over other programmes and that students graduating the IB Diploma have lower drop-out rates at university and higher earning potential after university.

The IB learner profile articulates the IBO’s commitment to a holistic and values-based approach to education that is a perfect fit for the ABC, where we seek to develop, not just the learner, but also the person.

How does the ABC’s Curriculum prepare its students for university?

The IBD Programme is more than a certificate

The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

The IB’s programmes are different from other curricula because they:

Encourage students of all ages to think critically and challenge assumptions.
Develop independently of government and national systems, incorporating quality practice from research and our global community of schools.
Encourage students of all ages to consider both local and global contexts.
Develop multilingual students.

Your future awaits you….

The IB Diploma is widely regarded as the “Gold standard” among secondary school graduating curricula. It is valued by the best universities around the world, including all of the Ivy League colleges in the US and both Oxford and Cambridge in the UK.

“IB is well known to us for excellent preparation. Success in an IB programme correlates well with success at Harvard. We are always pleased to see the credentials of the IB Diploma Programme on the transcript. GPA is
not nearly as important a factor in university admission as the IB Diploma. If a student has to choose, choose the Diploma over protecting the GPA.”

“Send us prepared students a la IB… It is the ‘best’ high school prep curriculum an American school can offer.”
