Film

Film is an elective course once students reach Grade 11. Here they have an opportunity to explore a variety of films from a wide range of cultures and styles developing analytical skills to investigate how meaning is constructed through film with a focus on the cultural context.

Film students also engage with the practical side of film-making, developing clear film-maker intentions and experimenting with a number of film production roles as they develop the skills to write, film and edit their own short films.

The Film Department also encourages participation in extracurricular activities through the annual DVA Awards Night which celebrates a wide variety of film styles from students across Primary and Secondary.
